Kami's Birthday

Kami is turning 11 on Monday, October 22nd (or October chicky nugget as she called it when she was a toddler).  We invited all of the kids in her class to a party at our house.  It was all about pizza, sodas, junk food, hot tub, water balloons, music, and fun!  They all had a blast.  When the party ended she had 5 friends spend the night.  I think they finally fell asleep at 2:30 am.!

It was two years ago today that T walked into the pool at Seacoast Village with kids in tow.  It is so strange because it seems like we have known each other for an eternity (in a good way).

A lot can happen  in just two years:
We met and became friends
We went to Vegas
We began dating
We had our first Thanksgiving together
We celebrated birthday's
I moved next door to T
We had our first Christmas together
We had our first Valentines together
We broke up (for about 4 days, lol)
We celebrated more birthdays
We took 6 of our kids for a weekend in Palm Springs
We took a cross country RV trip to Texas with 6 of our kids (he met my dad)
We went on our first cruise with 5 of the kids (I met his family)
My daughter gave birth to my first grandchild, a little girl named Hope.
More birthday's
We went to Tahiti and T proposed to me
We had our second Thanksgiving together
We began planning our life
We had our second Christmas together
We had our second Valentines
Another weekend in Palm Springs
We took 5 of the kids on a trip to Vegas
We bought a new home
More birthday's
We moved into the new home
We got married
We went to Napa (our honeymoon)
We went on another cruise (family honeymoon cruise)
All of the kids started at a new school

First Day in a New School!

Today was the first day of school for the kids.  New town...new school.  They had mixed feelings of excitement and nerves.

For the most part the morning went well.  They woke up, had their breakfast, put on their new school clothes, got their backpacks ready, and got on their bikes.  I rode my bike with them so I could walk each of them to their new class.  They are in a K-8 school, so they all get to be together, which is nice.

I went to 14 different school as a kid.  No, my dad was not in the military.  We just moved...A LOT!  I can remember that nervous feeling each time I started a new school.  Most of the time though I would have a new friend by the end of the first day...if not the first day, the end of the first week for sure.

We rode our bikes and took Claire (what she now wants to be called) to her classroom.  We went to drop off Charlie next, but his class was still closed.  We all walked over and dropped off a very nervous Kami.  I think she was pleased to see about 8 little girls already sitting down in desks...she was afraid there were no kids her age in town.  They all looked at Kami, and I could tell were asking who she was.  We then went to take Jenna, who I think may be the most nervous.  She is so shy at first and takes so long to warm up.  Her teacher asked her if he could take her in and introduce her to a couple of kids and she said no.  Then she told me she didn't want to go in.  I told her okay, she could go with us to take Charlie and we would go back.  I felt so bad, she looked like she was about to cry.  I told her she couldn't cry, as she was a 7th grader and all the kids would see.  I asked her if she wanted me to tell her teacher she didn't want to be introduced yet, and she said yes!  We dropped off Charlie with no problem.  He just walked right in and took a seat.  I introduced myself to his teacher and told her he was new to town.  So by the time we got back, Jenna wasn't on the verge of tears anymore, and when we told her teacher she didn't want to be introduced yet, she just wanted to sit down, he said okay...and she went right in.  I then took a slightly nervous TJ to his class.  We had to wait for his teacher and met a couple of very nice boys.  His teacher came along and in he went.

So overall, it was fine.  Almost had an issue with Jenna and glad I figured out that she just didn't want to be introduced to anyone.  Whew!  After school today we are taking them to lunch at the famous "Charlie's Burgers" in town.  :)

Honeymoon(s)

After the wedding, T and I took off and went to Napa for 3 days followed by a day in San Francisco.  This was my first trip to Napa and I loved it!  We went on a few wine tours, ate at great restaurants, and stayed in a lovely little bed and breakfast!  Can't wait to go back again, it is a great little getaway!

Now the second honeymoon was the "Family Honeymoon" (if there is such a thing).  We took the five youngest kids on a cruise to Mexico.  The kids love cruises and we didn't have to deal with flying, so it just made sense!  We were going to go to Hawaii, but the airline tickets would have cost more than the cruise!

We all had a blast and by the end of the trip Jenna, TJ, Kami, and Charlie had learned such great manners about elegant dining, a lady actually came up to our table and complemented us on how well behaved our children were.  :)  The kids were beaming because they were working so hard at it!

We spent two days in Cabo, one day in Puerto Vallarta, and the rest of the days at sea.  On the last Saturday T and I had "date night" and ate at the steakhouse, while the four oldest had dinner on their own in the elegant dining room.  They were so cute.  We met them in time for dessert and the waiters said they were wonderful!  Claire Marie enjoyed camp carnival most of the time and didn't want to leave.

Here are some photos from the cruise!
